TikTok has filed a lawsuit against the United States over a bill that requires its parent company, ByteDance, to sell its shares in the company within nine months or face a ban in the country. ByteDance argues that the bill is unconstitutional and infringes on free speech rights.

Banning TikTok feels like a knee-jerk reaction more than anything else. Sure, there might be some concerns about security, but there could of been conditions in put in place by the government to force more security by some date, instead a full blown ban or divestment.
