YouTube’s hyperlinked comments could drive valuable traffic for Google Search

YouTube has introduced a feature that automatically hyperlinks certain words and phrases in video comments, directing users to Google Search results for those terms. This initiative aims to enhance user engagement by providing easy access to additional information related to the video’s content. However, some hyperlinks may lead to irrelevant search results, as the system doesn’t always accurately interpret the context of the highlighted terms. Currently, commenters cannot control which parts of their comments are hyperlinked, and there is no option to disable this feature. While this approach could increase traffic to Google Search, it may also affect the user experience on YouTube.
