This is extremely underrated advice for people in the media industry where connections can make a big impact. Sure you don't need to do this, but in my mind I have talked myself out of reaching out to someone. This can be really useful in thsoe times. Obviously do it genuinely. You wouldn't say this to someone who didn't actually inspire you.
