Roblox will increase rev share to 50-70% with creators

Roblox is enhancing its revenue-sharing model to support creators and incentivize the development of premium content. At its annual developer conference, CEO David Baszucki announced that developers will now receive between 50% and 70% of revenue from paid experiences purchased on desktop, a notable increase from the previous 30% for Robux-based transactions. The company aims to extend this model to mobile and console platforms, though app store fees pose challenges. Roblox also introduced a new affiliate program allowing creators to earn up to 50% of Robux purchases made by new users through their referral links. Additionally, Roblox is launching a "Party" mode for group interactions and partnering with Shopify to allow developers to sell physical items. These efforts align with Roblox's goal of attracting older users and enhancing its platform, despite recent controversies surrounding safety concerns.
