Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to add a song to their profile, reminiscent of the Myspace era. This song will appear in the user's bio section and can be played or paused by visitors, but it won’t autoplay. Users can choose a 30-second portion of a track from Instagram's licensed music library to display on their profiles.
This feature debuts in collaboration with pop star Sabrina Carpenter, who is using it to exclusively preview her new song “Taste” ahead of her album release. Additionally, Instagram has added hidden features related to Carpenter's upcoming album, such as themed temporary Notes messages and a special chat theme.
This update continues Instagram's efforts to enhance user profiles with more personalized and interactive elements.

This is such a throwback! I was all about Myspace back in the day, and one of the best parts was curating your profile with the perfect song that matched. Instagram bringing this back feels like a nod to the OG social media days. im just curious how it’ll fit in with the more polished aesthetic IG usually pushes. Anyone else feeling the nostalgia?
Lol, this just proves that everything old becomes new again.
