SAG-AFTRA signs off on AI voice deal

SAG-AFTRA has approved a deal with AI startup Narrativ, allowing union actors to license their voices for AI-generated commercial projects. This agreement provides ethical safeguards for actors, ensuring they have control over the use of their voices and the ability to approve each project. Additionally, actors can negotiate fees and receive contributions to their pension and health benefits. This deal is seen as a way to harmonize human creativity with AI, offering actors new passive income opportunities while protecting their rights. Similar agreements have been made with other AI companies like Replica Studios, focusing on the video game industry.

That's pretty cool, I hope that works out of them. This is a better way for AI to permeate the industry than people losing complete likeness rights.

Huge W for actors. This is the type of industry standards that are required to work with a world of AI. Everyone else take note.
