Meta’s Threads is struggling to win over content creators

Meta's Threads, a text-based social media platform launched a year ago, is struggling to gain traction among content creators. Despite having 175 million monthly users, many creators find the platform lacks a clear purpose compared to Meta's other platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Some creators use Threads for casual, low-stakes posts, but overall engagement remains low. Meta is trying to incentivize usage through cash bonuses and promotions, but many influencers still prioritize platforms that provide more significant returns on their efforts. The platform's future success depends on attracting more creators and users.

Threads, unlike the original twitter, doesn’t feel like it captures the real-time events of life. My favorite part of Twitter was keeping up with an even unfolding and the public discourse around it. Threads just feels like more shouting into the void about any topic at any time.
