Suno releases new "Covers" feature to reimagine music you love

Suno has introduced a new feature called "Covers," now in early-access beta, that lets users reimagine their music by transforming it into various styles while preserving the original melody. Whether working with voice recordings or instrumentals, this tool empowers users to experiment with fresh genres and even add lyrics to instrumental tracks.

To create a cover, simply select a song from the Library or Create page, choose "Cover Song," and pick your desired music style. The feature then automatically adjusts the original lyrics to match the new style, though users have the flexibility to modify them as they see fit. Available to Pro and Premier subscribers, this feature offers an initial 100 free covers, inviting users to test and provide feedback during the beta phase to help improve the tool’s functionality.

I am curious how they handle copyright with this.

If you upload a cover and the AI rewrites lyrics, is that still considered the same song legally?
