A bit torn on this one. Understandably YouTube can only run successfully by either ads or a subscription, but YouTube feels like it’s getting worse by allowing ad blocking for this long and now tightening their restrictions.
Yeah this is something I expected to happen, ads make Youtube money so understandably they would inevitably fight back to get what they can. Supposedly Google takes a loss operating Youtube. We can't really blame them for wanting to get some sort of profit.
Any video sites I've seen come and go could not secure funding for the storage of videos, it seems like it is an expensive venture.

Wow had no idea they operate at a loss. That’s actually mind blowing and this makes total sense.
